Cottages in Southwold

Southwold is Suffolk’s holiday hotspot, and, upon visiting, it is immediately clear as to why. With one of the Suffolk coast’s best beaches, a gorgeous town centre and a wealth of charming pubs and shops, Southwold epitomises everything that’s good about the British seaside. A cottage in Southwold not only allows you to explore one charming seaside village, but the rest of Suffolk’s coastal gems, including nearby Aldeburgh, Walberswick and Reydon.

We boast a large range of holiday cottages in Southwold and can truly offer something for all tastes and needs. Whether you’re looking for a dog-friendly cottage to treat a pet who loves being by the sea, or you need a large property perfect for a post-pandemic reunion, we have something for you. We also have a collection of luxury cottages in Southwold, coming with special features such as sea views, hot tubs and games rooms.  The first thing to do in Southwold has to be grabbing your bucket and spade and strolling down to the beach. We dare you to pass the olde world pubs without stopping for half pint of the local stuff. If you find a favourite then you can pop into the Adnams shop where you will be spoilt for choice.

When you eventually reach it, the beach is made up of sand and shingle. This is great those that love a grand design, for making sandcastle worlds of make-believe fairies or giants with shingle pathways that lead to grand entrances... or you could just stick a flag in yours! As you walk on along the sea front towards the pier you can admire the wonderful colours of the beach huts along with the lighthouse that stands tall above the houses in the town behind.

You can't visit Southwold without visiting the Pier - it has a great feel to it. You can stroll to the end and watch the world go by listening to the waves crash whilst you eat your takeaway fish and chips. You could also visit the quirky world of Tim Hunkins with his old-fashioned machines or watch the water clock that puts on a show every 30 mins. If you need to rest the weary legs there are some wonderful places to eat, whether it be on the pier or back in the town.  Browse our collection of Southwold holiday cottages and see what this amazing town is all about!
