Aldeburgh is situated at the heart of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The river Alde, popular with sailors, winds its way to Orford downstream and up-stream to Snape Maltings, home of the internationally famous Aldeburgh Music Festival. Thorpeness, just a couple of miles north along the beach, has its own special seaside character. In Aldeburgh fishermen still, pull their colourful boats up on the shingle beach and sell fresh fish from their picturesque huts. The high street has mostly independent shops mixed in with a nice variety of eating places. There are also several good hotels overlooking the sea, ideal for a leisurely lunch or evening meal. Opposite our Aldeburgh office is an interesting old and very well equipped cinema which shows the latest films and occasional festivals e.g. the highly regarded annual Aldeburgh Documentary Film Festival. There is always plenty to do in Aldeburgh while a radius of 10 miles inland will bring you to the fabulous natural riches of the East Anglian countryside and coastal area - and plenty of excellent pubs.

The Sun Deck is a great place to stay in Aldburgh for a couple. There are a few stairs to negotiate on arrival and departure but in between a lovely little 20 yard cut through onto the lovely bustling high street. Great shops, bars, restaurants, fish and chips and of course the sea. There are some great walks around the marshes and to Thorpeness. SRead morenape Maltings is recommended for shopping and lunch along with a boat ride down the river Alde and back. The accommodation is well appointed with well stocked kitchen. Everything works! Highly recommend! Hide

Lovely clean well equipped cottage. Perfect location close to all amenities. Couldnt have asked for anything more apart from maybe its own parking spot. But we still managed to park fairly close so not an issue. We loved it & would definitely stay again.
