Cottages in Bamburgh

Once the capital of 7th-century Northumbria, Bamburgh has retained its significance and is now one of Northumberland’s most popular tourist hotspots. This is largely due to the village’s sandy beaches, and its central location which offers easy access to charming destinations. Most of our Bamburgh holiday cottages are within walking distance of the beach, and our portfolio of properties showcases the quaint beauty and diverse architecture of this attractive area.

We have a wide selection of holiday cottages in the area, from small retreats for solo travellers and couples to large private homes that are perfect for the whole family. Some of our cottages are also dog-friendly, which is ideal considering that Bamburgh is a popular dog walking spot – Bamburgh Beach is also dog-friendly.

There are plenty of activities for non-furry visitors to sink their teeth into on Bamburgh Beach. Whether you’d prefer to simply kick back and relax or go out on an adventure, you can do it in Bamburgh. On one side of the beach stands the dramatic castle, which towers over the landscape. The castle, which dates back to the Norman period, is open to visitors (including dogs) and has an extensive collection of historical artefacts and interesting exhibitions that guide you through the site’s fascinating history. To the other side of the beach are the Farne Islands, which are buzzing with wildlife.

Away from the coast, the centre of Bamburgh is a hive of activity, and home to all your favourite seaside treats. Try some locally sourced crab or soak up the sun as you sip on a glass of something chilled. With such a wealth of cottages available in the area, its brilliant location and endless activities, there’s no reason to delay booking your Bamburgh holiday.

If you would like to explore further along Northumberland’s shoreline, be sure to have a look at our full collection of coastal holiday homes. Alternatively, why not browse our selection of cottages in nearby Seahouses, Craster or Amble?
