Cottages in Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe is situated on the North Devon Heritage coastline, a bustling seaside town with a pretty, sheltered harbour overlooked by an Iron Age fort, Hillsborough Hill.

Surrounded by award winning beaches with beautiful cliff top walks and fantastic wildlife watching opportunities, you might think that this is enough to occupy you, but the town has so much to offer as well.

Independent businesses sit side by side with pubs and restaurants, cafes and tearooms and Ilfracombe even boasts its own theatre, the Landmark Theatre, and a landmark it is due to its unique, double conical design.

Ilfracombe's sandy beaches which circle the town, named the Tunnels Beaches, are great for long days in the sun. Low walls were created here to provide natural tidal pools just perfect for swimming and the terrain has created varied rock pools teeming with sealife. Also visit nearby Combe Martin and Woolacombe for beach days.

For those who want to venture out onto the water, there are boat trips available for wildlife watching or just to enjoy the picturesque coastline. Seals, porpoises and dolphins are frequent visitors and you could travel as far afield as Lundy Island which sits just over 20 miles out in the Bristol Channel. With its very own ferry, day trips to Lundy Island are easy and give you the chance to explore this remarkable place. The small village has a pub, church and castle but with no vehicles or streetlights, Lundy offers a sense of calm tranquillity and is beautifully atmospheric; well worth visiting. We have a range of traditional and contemporary cottages and apartments scattered across Ilfracombe, many of which enjoy the most fantastic views of the sea.
