Self-catering holidays in Dinas Mawddwy

Situated along the southern edge of the majestic Snowdonia National Park, our wide array of Dinas Mawddwy cottages provide fantastic accommodation for couples enjoying a romantic getaway, families exploring the glorious countryside of Eryi, or for groups of friends taking part in a range of activities. Situated at the meeting point of three rivers, Dinas Mawddwy dates back to the Iron Age and was once the hideout for a gang of highwaymen known as The Red Bandits of Mawddwy. In these more peaceful times, the area offers a variety of activities including hiking, horse riding, golf, biking and breathtaking walks. We have a great choice of self-catering holiday cottages in this stunning part of Gwynedd including cheerful barn conversions, cosy cabins, spacious farmhouses and traditional stone cottages.

Set within a magnificent wooded valley, the small town of Dinas Mawddwy is home to a popular craft centre occupying a former wool mill. The area offers plenty of spellbinding walking routes of varying difficulty, taking in the area’s deep valleys, lush woodlands and rugged moors. More determined climbers can attempt the nearby mountains of Aran Mawddwy and Cader Idris. The area is also perfect for mountain bikers, with the popular Coed-y-Bren Forest Park and Visitor Centre to the northwest offering some fabulous trails. If you prefer a relaxing day by the sea, follow the River Dyfi to the west to the cheerful and traditional resort of Barmouth which lies along the coast of Ceredigion Bay and has a lovely sandy beach and glorious scenery.
