This pet-friendly Dolgellau holiday cottage offers excellent walking, water sports and mountain biking (Coed-y-Brenin) and is only 12 miles from the sandy beaches at Barmouth and Fairbourne. Cae Merllyn holiday cottage in Snowdonia National Park is based on a working sheep farm 2 miles from Dolgellau and enjoys beautiful countryside views. It also has a lawned area with picnic bench and outdoor toys.

Ground Floor

Adjoining the owners’ farmhouse B&B, this Dolgellau holiday cottage has a fitted kitchen including a refrigerator, kettle, hob, oven, air fryer, microwave, slim dishwasher etc, a cosy living room with a Smart TV, electric fire and a dining table, and a ground floor bath/shower room. Utility outbuilding with w/machine, t/dryer, freezer and lockable storage space.

Upstairs

3 cosy bedrooms overlooking great countryside views. This includes 1 double with cot, 1 twin and 1 single, all bedrooms provide guests with plenty of storage space. 

Garden

Enclosed lawned area with a picnic bench, BBQ and outdoor toys.

Lockable outbuilding with w/machine, t/dryer and storage space for bikes etc.

Additional Information

Milk in the fridge coffee, tea, sugar, biscuits and cake to welcome you on arrival. Let us know if you're celebrating a special occasion and we will include an extra surprise in your welcome pack as well.

Towels and bed linen provided.

Cot and Highchair available on request. 

Electricity and oil central heating included.

Wi-fi available at the cottage.

Range of games and films provided.

Food delivery service is available to the cottage. Further details will be sent when you book your holiday.

Beautiful cottage, beautiful views and central for everything!! We have had an amazing holiday in a really comfortable cottage and have fallen in love with Sally the sheepdog! We can't wait to return!!

Lovely cottage, very cosy, had everything we needed. Beds were extremely comfy. The area is stunning and peaceful and although it is a working farm it was very quiet. It was exactly what we hoped for and needed. Our 4 year old grandson loved it and sally the sheepdog came to say hello to him every day.

From the very first moment we arrived, we felt that something truly special was waiting for us. The exterior Christmas lights of the house were visible from afar and immediately created a warm, festive atmosphere. The key was waiting for us in the door, which gave us a strong sense of trust and security. As soon as we stepped inside, we werRead moree welcomed by a beautifully decorated living room filled with Christmas lights, a charming Christmas tree, festive music playing throughout the house, and even a crackling fireplace on the TV. The whole atmosphere was magical, cosy, and incredibly homely. We were greeted with a bottle of prosecco and biscuits, which was such a lovely and thoughtful touch. There was also milk in the fridge. These small details really made us feel cared for and welcome. The house looks exactly like the photos there were absolutely no disappointments but the Christmas decorations elevated it even further and made it truly enchanting. The kitchen was clean, well equipped, and a pleasure to use. Upstairs, three charming bedrooms awaited us, all beautifully decorated with a festive Christmas feel. The beds were very comfortable, and the views from the windows were simply unforgettable. The small garden was perfect, and we felt completely at home throughout our stay. Our little dog absolutely loved it too, as the garden is enclosed and allowed him to run around freely and safely. The location is ideal: close to the town, with larger shops and restaurants only a 10-minute drive away. One of the most beautiful walking and hiking routes starts just a few minutes from the house, following a stream with lovely small and larger waterfalls it truly felt like a fairytale. We are incredibly grateful that we chose this house. We spent Christmas and New Year in Wales, with snowfall and a white winter landscape, in this beautiful and welcoming home. It was the perfect way to begin the year an experience we will never forget. We are already planning to return in spring. A true little gem that we would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone. Hide

We had a lovely holiday. The location is peaceful and the cottage had everything we needed. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden.

Location is perfect to travel any direction for a day out. Small supermarket within 10 minutes and lots of places to eat out. A warm welcome was found by someone bakery's and milk.

Lovely little cottage. There were five adults and it was very cosy. Not far from amenities and the cottage had everything required for our stay and more. It was a nice touch that they had left a couple of easter eggs and cakes. Beautiful views and not far for walks. Hats off to the owners.

I really enjoyed our stay. It was very roomy downstairs and has a lovely cosy feel. The owners had left a fire playing on the telly which was lovely and half a cake on the table (which was lovely). Kitchen was very well equipped, hair dryers in both bedrooms. Strong WiFi. Great location, the Torrent Walk which is only 10 mins away by foot was a lovRead moreely walk. The whole experience was brilliant. The cottage was clean, tidy and it was ridiculously cosy. Outside had enough space for the dog and the setting was so quiet and idyllic. The beach is 20 minutes away and there is a lovely walk around the waterfalls at the top of the road. The town is only 10 minutes away in the car too. I couldnt find a takeaRead moreway to deliver but it was easy enough to collect. I honestly cant rate this place highly enough and will definitely be booking again. Thank you for a brilliant weekend!
