The South Devon coastline runs from Seaton to Plymouth and offers some of the UK’s best beaches, with breathtaking sandy coastlines, secret secluded coves, rugged historic cliffs and lively coastal resorts. The landscape is totally unique and no two beaches are the same.

The South West Coast Path runs across the majority of this coastline and is a truly spectacular walking route. Described as “walking at its most diverse, most spectacular and most delicious,” in the Great Adventures book by Lonely Planet, this path is the only hike in the UK to make it into the highly respected guide book and one of 12 hikes identified across the globe. The 630 miles of Coast Path offer the most iconic and breathtaking scenery, whether you’re an experienced rambler, hiking the dramatic headlands and steep coastal valleys or looking for a more relaxing stroll on the gentle stretches of this coast path.

For family fun and traditional seaside entertainment, venture to Paignton Pier, Dartmouth Warren or Torquay, where you’ll find amusements, fish and chips, cafes, shops and golden sands in abundance. Paignton Zoo is another great spot for a family day out and is home to over 2,500 animals. 

Further inland, you’ll find Dartmoor National Park. This national park has more than 160 tors, which are dramatic outcrops of granite, usually standing on top of a hill each with mystical legends of how they came about! Explore the highest tors on foot, head to the hills on your bike, take in the moors on horseback, brave an exhilarating dip with wild swimming, try out kayaking and climbing or enjoy a relaxing day fishing; Dartmoor has something for everyone.
