A glamping pod, set in the idyllic East Devon countryside, next to the owners own home with wonderful views over the rolling hills. The pod consists of a open plan living area with kitchenette and cosy seating area with two seater sofa, TV and a double bed situated behind. There is a seperate shower room with toilet and washbasin. With the added benefit of underfloor heating throughout, guests can enjoy this wonderful location all year round.

The village of Shute lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, surrounded by farmland and footpaths which lead you through pastures, past the Shute Barton or down into the picturesque valley. A 10 minute drive will bring you to the village of Kilmington, where there is a garage, Millers Farm Shop and two pubs, a further 5 minutes drive will bring you to the nearest supermarket. Slightly further afield is the River Cottage and the towns of Seaton and Lyme Regis, both well worth a visit and offer a range of activities from Museums, the aquarium and not forgetting Lyme Regis beach, famous for fossil hunting!

Flat walk to pod from parking area and 3 small steps up to front door.

Open plan living area with TV, Table and chairs and two seater sofa. Double Bed located behind seating area.

Kitchen facilities include: Microwave, electric hob, half size fridge freezer and sink. Built in storage units with baskets.

Bathroom with Shower, WC and washbasin

Outside: Decked area to the front of the pod with bistro set, lawned garden with sun loungers and BBQ.

Parking: Private parking for 1 car

Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £150, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday and is refunded within 4 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Heating: All fuel is inclusive, Underfloor heating throughout

Pets: up to 2 dogs only, no other pets allowed.

Notes - No Smoking. Short breaks available. Wifi available, although can be slow. Arr/Dep day is Monday/Friday. Infants up to the age of two are welcome. BBQ not available during winter month

We have just returned from an excellent weeks stay at The Retreat. We were met on arrival by lovely Mary and her dogs Max and Milo. The Pod's facilities were exactly what we needed, and it was much more spacious than we expected. Its in a lovely quiet area with the most beautiful views and villages. The Retreat was a great last minute find with a friendly and welcoming owner. A quiet location, but with easy access to the coast, woodland walks or numerous 'tourist' attractions. Compact and quirky - good value for money.

Its an excellent property, well equipped ,lovely enclosed garden, great for our dog. The owner mary is lovely and helpful. We have already booked another stay! We have only just come back!

We had the most lovely stay in The Retreat. Calm, comfortable and cosy with a spectacular view and marvellously close to the wonderful Donkey Sanctuary. Mary is absolutely lovely. So helpful, friendly and welcoming but never intrusive. Just great.

Excellent little pod in its own little garden space. Well equipped. Very clean. Private. Looked out over the countryside. Was a great base from which to explore. Fabulous host who welcomed by didn't intrude. We loved it!

The retreat in shute is a perfect place for a get away from it all break. The accommodation is superb and very well presented. The grounds are great for relaxing and Mary was brilliant with any requests or local knowledge regarding places to go. I would certainly revisit and highly recommend the property. 5 stars

A wonderful 7 night stay at The Retreat. This glamping pod exceeded our expectations and is tucked away in a lovely unspoilt area with stunning views. The pod was clean and felt spacious even with 2 dogs! This was an ideal base to visit nearby charming villages, attractions and beautiful costal spots. Mary was the perfect host, chatty and hadRead more lots of local knowledge. We were made to feel more than welcome as were our dogs. We had a very good time in this property. The views are stunning and the location is good to explore other places in Devon and Dorset. Although the living space is quite compact, it's very well arranged and you have everything you need. The only thing I would point out is that the garden should be more secured so you didn't have the need to have doRead moregs on the lead in your own private space. Hide

Lovely location and fun property, by it's nature fairly compact but good and useable space. It has a nice garden with a BBQ and outdoor seating. The dog liked it too. Good location for touring the area.

The pod is amazing with stunning views across the valley. Mary is very knowledgeable about the area having lived there for 40 odd years. Very cosy inside with the underfloor heating and was exactly what we required. Well equipped with a welcome pack with the basics required to settle you in. Great to wake up and look to the left and see 2 lovely reRead moretired race horses every morning too. Great compact accommodation with everything you need. Lovely Views, friendly host happy to help. Short Drive to some nice pubs. Would stay again.
