Self-catering cottages in Salcombe

Escape to South Devon with us. The Salcombe estuary and its namesake town is one of the most beautiful spots in the whole region and we have a number of wonderful holiday cottages nearby. If you’re looking for a sea view, Salcombe is a wonderful option for families, couples and  solo travellers as it has something to offer everyone. We have a range of bright and airy holiday cottages across Salcombe, with fabulous sea views, dog-friendly accommodation and luxury homes all available. Also visit Hope Cove and Kingsbridge.

Our Salcombe homes by the sea are some of the very best in our Devon portfolio, with special features such as hot tubs and games rooms on offer alongside wonderful interiors and splendid gardens. When you’re not enjoying your Salcombe holiday home, you can look forward to all the fun that Salcombe has to offer. Starting with the beach offerings, Salcombe has two main beaches: Salcombe North Sands and Salcombe South Sands. Salcombe North Sands is a large, sandy beach dotted by rockpools and with blue seas that will remind you of the Mediterranean. Salcombe South Sands beach is equally picturesque and is located in a National Landscape. Salcombe North Sands is dog friendly all year round and while there is a seasonal dog ban on Salcombe South Sands, both beaches are adjacent to the coast path which is a great dog walking spot all year round.

For those seeking a little bit of action on their holiday, Salcombe South Sands is also the perfect spot to find watersports facilities. Choose from canoeing, windsurfing, dinghy sailing and even scuba diving! There are also a number of cafes and restaurants near the beach, should you require a spot of refreshment after your maritime adventures, or you fancy a more relaxing day filled with taking in the sea views while enjoying a spot of al fresco dining.

Salcombe harbour is at the heart of the town and is the very definition of a pretty English harbour – blue waters, hundreds of boats, colourful buildings and a scenic walking route to join it all up. The Crab Shed is just one of many of Salcombe’s popular harbourside restaurants where you can sample some fresh Devonshire seafood, accompanied by a beautiful waterside view. Many of the restaurants in Salcombe book up quickly, so we recommend you make a reservation as far in advance as possible, but there are a number of cafes by the coast where booking is not required, but the views and food are equally delectable.

Salcombe is also within an easy driving distance of many of South Devon’s top spots, including Blackpool Sands, Kingsbridge, Hope Cove, Thurlston, Slapton and Dartmouth. With so much to offer both within the town and close by, Salcombe proves itself a wonderful holiday destination, so all that’s left to ask is where will you be staying?
