Holiday Cottages in South Devon

South Devon, home of the English Riviera, is a land of winding streets, blue waters, cream teas, quaint villages and expansive countryside. As one of England’s most picturesque areas, it’s easy to see why so many flock here to holiday every year and perhaps explains why you’ve arrived here too. Our South Devon Cottages are in some of the region’s most desirable locations, including the coastal spots of Torbay, Brixham, Dartmouth, Dawlish, Salcombe, Sidmouth and Torquay. For those looking to escape to somewhere a little more rural, we have a selection of self-catering homes in the Blackdown Hills. If it’s city life you’re after, check out our cottages in Exeter.

An extra-special place often requires an extra special place to stay. That’s why we have a large range of luxury properties in South Devon. But what makes a cottage luxury? Imagine a roaring open fire in the winter or a cosy outdoor hot tub from which to raise a glass and gaze at Devon’s famed dark skies. For summer holidays, picture yourself dipping your toes in a cool, clear swimming pool, or playing with the kids or the dog in a huge garden all of your own. That’s what makes our homes luxury, so why not treat yourself and browse through our bespoke collection today? Available for short breaks and long stays alike, our luxury cottages are simply perfect for a South Devon retreat.

A great number of our South Devon holiday cottages also come with a fabulous sea view and are just a stone’s-throw from the beach. Our coastal holiday homes put you as close as possible to the Devonshire sea, so you can breathe in the sea air as soon as you wake. If you plan on bringing your dog along with you to join you for a spot of rambling along the South West Coast Path, or a spot of fetch on the beach, then take a look at our many dog-friendly cottages in South Devon.

The South Devon coastline runs from Seaton to Plymouth and offers some of the UK’s best beaches, with breathtaking sandy coastlines, secret secluded coves, rugged historic cliffs and lively coastal resorts. The landscape is totally unique and no two beaches are the same.

The South West Coast Path runs across the majority of this coastline and is a truly spectacular walking route. Described as “walking at its most diverse, most spectacular and most delicious,” in the Great Adventures book by Lonely Planet, this path is the only hike in the UK to make it into the highly respected guide book and one of 12 hikes identified across the globe. The 630 miles of Coast Path offer the most iconic and breathtaking scenery, whether you’re an experienced rambler, hiking the dramatic headlands and steep coastal valleys or looking for a more relaxing stroll on the gentle stretches of this coast path.

For family fun and traditional seaside entertainment, venture to Paignton Pier, Dartmouth Warren or Torquay, where you’ll find amusements, fish and chips, cafes, shops and golden sands in abundance. Paignton Zoo is another great spot for a family day out and is home to over 2,500 animals.

Further inland, you’ll find Dartmoor National Park. This national park has more than 160 tors, which are dramatic outcrops of granite, usually standing on top of a hill each with mystical legends of how they came about! Explore the highest tors on foot, head to the hills on your bike, take in the moors on horseback, brave an exhilarating dip with wild swimming, try out kayaking and climbing or enjoy a relaxing day fishing; Dartmoor has something for everyone.
