High Peak Bookstore and Cafe

Buxton: This independent bookstore is a bookworm’s idea of heaven. Selling a large range of fiction and non-fiction books, as well as a well-stocked children’s section, you will definitely be able to find a holiday read here. The shop also has links with the Buxton International Festival, which sees a range of events take place from August to November every year.

Stepping Stones Shoe Shop

Ashbourne: Stepping Stones stocks children’s and women’s shoes from a range of brands and in many styles, perfect for fashionistas! They also have a special selection of school shoes, so if you’re in Ashbourne before the start of a new term and you haven’t got the kid's shoes sorted yet, why not buy them here and support a local business?

Cromford Mills

Matlock: This Mill was once owned by Sir Richard Arkwright, the inventor of the Spinning Machine that became instrumental in the industrial revolution. Today, the Mills are still very lively and offer a blended experience between history and shopping. Our local team recommend a visit to the Antiques Centre, Countryside Books, Netty Radish handcrafted gifts and the Mills’ Cheese Shop.

Vanishing Point Records

Chesterfield: One for the music lovers, this independent record shop in the heart of Chesterfield is definitely worth popping into if you prefer to hold your music in your hand. Located in the Yards, known in Chesterfield as the home of independent and trendy shops, Vanishing Point Records is right at home amongst a series of delightful locally-owned businesses.
