Set within a peaceful holiday park near Tintagel (1 mile), this modern two-bedroom lodge gives a family or two couples a comfortable base for exploring North Cornwall’s rugged coastline. Bring the dog along and plan a morning at Bossiney Cove (0.5 miles), accessible via steep steps: its sandy beach appears at low tide, with rock pools to investigate and sea caves to spot beneath the cliffs. Locally, you can also follow the Trevillet River through woodland and admire the slate gorge of Rocky Valley (0.5 miles), a National Trust site. Tintagel is ideal for morning coffees and perhaps a look around the medieval Old Post Office and its cottage garden. On another day, visit Tintagel Castle (1.5 miles), taking time to enjoy the coastal setting and Arthurian stories. St Nectan’s Glen (1.5 miles) also has a lovely woodland walk to its waterfalls.
At the lodge, a timber exterior accessed via a gate gives way to a stylish, neutral interior. Double-aspect windows and an apex ceiling bring light and a sense of space to the open-plan living area, where you’ll have plenty of room to relax together after a day out. There are two sofas for sinking into, plus a Smart TV. The dining table sits beside a window and seats four, while the adjoining kitchen makes it easy to prepare a meal and keep the conversation going. When it’s time to rest your head, choose from a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, plus there’s a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.
French doors from the main area lead out onto a spacious, enclosed deck with wooden garden furniture. On a warm morning, take breakfast outside; later, you can sit down to dinner in the fresh air. Parking is provided for one car.
