This attractive lodge makes an easy-going base for a family or two couples exploring the coast around Tintagel (1 mile). Located within a peaceful holiday park, among the Cornwall National Landscape’s scenic countryside, it puts walking routes, village stops and a little Arthurian history on the holiday agenda. Take the South West Coast Path (500 metres) for clifftop views or follow the river through the woodland and slate gorge at Rocky Valley (0.5 miles). Bossiney Cove (0.5 miles) is accessible via a path across the road (involves steep cliff steps) – watch its sandy beach appear at low tide and perhaps enjoy a swim or a snorkel. Tintagel has cafés, pubs, bakeries and shops for a leisurely afternoon. For another outing, head to the waterfalls and woodland paths of St Nectan’s Glen (1.5 miles). For more days out, Port Isaac and Polzeath are both within 15 miles.
Inside, this single-storey lodge has an open-plan kitchen and living area, giving everyone room to settle in together. Apex ceilings add to the sense of space, while two sets of French doors bring plenty of daylight into the living area. Lovely units lend the kitchen a fresh, modern feel. For serving up, the circular dining table seats four and sits beside one set of patio doors, so you can look out while you eat. Afterwards, settle down with a film on the Smart TV for an easy evening in. When it’s time for bed, you’ll have a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room and WC, along with a twin bedroom served by a family bathroom with a bath, overhead shower and WC.
The French doors open out onto the enclosed decking furnished with patio furniture, giving you another place to sit with a drink or enjoy a meal in the fresh air. Parking is provided for one car.
