It’s a magical place with windswept beaches, ancient priory ruins, stunning island walks and tempting places to eat. Goswick Beach (5.5 miles) offers a broad sweep of golden sand, ideal for beach games and sandcastle building. Those who enjoy a round of golf with sea views will love the nearby Goswick Golf Club. An 8-mile drive takes you to the historic town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, where you can walk along Elizabethan town walls, explore museums and galleries, and enjoy an ice cream by the river. Bamburgh (11 miles) is home to the dramatic castle, a wide sandy beach and village amenities. Don’t miss Seahouses (14 miles), where you can hop on a boat trip to the Farne Islands for a chance to see puffins, seals, and even dolphins.
