Cottages in Port Isaac

Port Isaac is charming, sitting on the rugged north Cornwall coast, between Polzeath and Tintagel. It is a picturesque fishing village that is instantly recognisable as the home of Doc Martin, the hit TV series starring Martin Clunes, as well as a wonderful holiday destination in its own right.

Our holiday cottages in Port Isaac are scattered around the village itself or just a short drive away. Port Isaac is a lovely base for a self-catering holiday, whether you’re looking for a luxury holiday home or a dog-friendly retreat, this section of the North Cornish coast forms part of the Heritage coastline. Visit the bustling fishing town of Padstow, famed for its excellent fish restaurants and one of the world's most renowned surfing destinations, Polzeath, just four miles away.

The beach at Port Isaac is shingle but there’s a lovely sandy beach at Daymer Bay which is family and dog friendly. Considered to be slightly off the beaten track, Daymer is well worth a visit. This sheltered stretch of sand, backed by dunes and has a gently sloping beach so it’s great for children. Take a stroll to the end of the beach and up Braey Hill for some fabulous views. Stop off at the nearby St Enodoc Church and see the grave of Sir John Betjeman.

Engulfed in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Port Isaac is a vibrant fishing village with character. Whitewashed cottages line the narrow winding streets leading down to the pretty beach and harbour. Wander down through the village and watch local fishermen landing their daily catch of lobsters, crab and fish. Port Isaac has been a thriving port for many years. Between the Middle Ages and the mid 19th century it was a major hub for the loading and unloading of pottery, timber, stone and coal in addition to fishing which of course still plays an important part today.
