Cottages in Bantham

Next to lovely Kingsbridge and Thurlestone, you will find the idyllic Bantham Beach. This stretch of coastline is one of the most iconic patches on the South Devon coast for a number of reasons and is known as a truly delightful holiday destination. We have an array of holiday cottages in Devon for you to browse through, including cottages with sea views, large holiday homes and dog-friendly accommodation.

Visiting Bantham

Bantham Beach is known as one of the best beaches for surfing in South Devon. The waves off the beach are reasonably gentle when compared with the large swells on the nearby River Avon, but this makes them perfect for beginners to try their hand at a new sport. If you’d rather relax, its soft, sandy shores are perfect for lying back and having a snooze in the sun.

Across from Bantham Beach is Burgh Island, made famous by none other than author Agatha Christie. The island was the inspiration behind many locations in her crime novels and Christie fans staying in the area should take a day trip to the island.

Thurlestone is a nearby village that is just over 4 miles away, making it the perfect place to walk to and from during the day, or quickly drive to. If you are walking, the route along the South West Coast Path is particularly scenic. Thurlestone has two beaches for you to explore and a lovely local pub should you need refreshment - check out our Thurlestone cottages or our wonderful Kingsbridge cottages nearby. With stunning beaches and coastal walks, great food and South Devon on your doorstep, what’s not to love about Bantham?
