This chocolate-box thatched cottage is set in a stunning hamlet location and less than a mile from Bantham Beach with its iconic views of Burgh Island and where Bantham Surf School offers lessons and equipment from the beach. Bantham offers an excellent village store as well as a renowned inn, serving great food and drinks less than a mile down the road. This wonderful region is renowned for its Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its fabulous South West Coast Path walks and splendid scenery right on your doorstep. Thurlestone, 1 mile away, is renowned for its 18-hole links golf course and also has some fine beaches. Another great spot to visit is Salcombe, the most southerly peninsula in Devon, popular for its yachting and outdoor living.

Step into this fabulous Grade II-listed cottage and into a fantastic entrance hallway with its imposing staircase steeped in history, with its ship carving salvaged from the Lady Young which was wrecked in 1879 at Hope Cove. Leave your hats and coats here and make your way through the hallway; the first room you will come across is the fabulous country kitchen/diner and where you are instantly hit with the natural light through the large period window. The kitchen offers an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer so it’s fully equipped to cook up a delicious family meal or pack up a hearty lunch to take with you on your day out. The dining table seats six and is set overlooking the wonderful cottage garden. Moving further along the hallway, you will find the large lounge with wonderful painted original beams, comfy seating, a Smart TV and a wood burner; there’s no better place to relax than by the roaring fire after a long day exploring. This room also boasts a beautiful window seat where you can curl up with your favourite book. Patio doors allow access out onto the garden. From the hallway, there is a door to the rear hall and utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and lots of space to store welly boots and outdoor items. This then leads to the adjoining WC. The back door takes you out to the rear private courtyard which gets the morning sun. Upstairs are three bedrooms and a shower room with a large walk-in shower and a WC. Moving along the landing with its stunning historic stained glass windows, you’ll step up into the master bedroom with a king-size bed and a large window overlooking the front garden, along with an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC. The remaining two bedrooms are accessed via five steps and comprise a cosy twin bedroom and another generous king-size bedroom with exposed beams and a wonderful cosy cottage feel – a great spot for a lie in and breakfast in bed.

Outside is an enclosed traditional cottage garden with a patio area and garden furniture. To the rear is a small private courtyard garden. There is allocated parking for one car with plenty of roadside parking in the village.

Stunning little property in a wonderful location. Navigating the lanes can be very tricky - esp. for non-Brits who are not used to it.
