Cottages in the North Yorkshire Moors

The North York Moors has it all; coastline, moorland and forestry, a National Park of spectacular scenery peppered with pretty villages.

Whether you are drawn by an interest in the dramatic landscapes and wildlife, the magnificent coastline or perhaps you are keen to explore the heritage and history of this beautiful unspoilt area, the North York Moors has something for everyone.

An ever popular haunt for writers and artists over the years, the North York Moors still finds favour with these groups; galleries and exhibitions are plentiful as there is a thriving arts scene keen to make the most of this fabulous landscape.

On your travels, you might find some places quite familiar as the North York Moors retain an enduring appeal to filmmakers. Downton Abbey, Heartbeat, Death comes to Pemberley and both editions of Evelyn Waugh’s classic Brideshead Revisited which was filmed at Castle Howard, were all shot at different locations on the North York Moors. Classic stately homes dot the landscape and provide a fascinating and historic backdrop to this atmospheric and beautiful part of Yorkshire.

The North York Moors are easy to access, you can choose to get in amongst it by walking, cycling, even horse riding, or let the train take the strain and enjoy the fabulous eighteen miles of railway line that makes up the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.  The north-west coastline also beckons with the dramatic Robin Hood’s Bay and a little to the north, Whitby, with the ruins of the famous Whitby Abbey brooding over the East Cliff headland, reputedly the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’.

We have a selection of classic rural properties for you to choose from or perhaps you fancy a coastal break, a fisherman’s cottage in the iconic seaside village of Robin Hood’s Bay. Speak to one of our friendly team on 0333 2020899 and they can help you find the perfect choice for your holiday.
