Self-catering cottages in Worth Matravers
You may well have seen Worth Matravers featuring on a postcard or two over the years. The Duck Pond in the centre of the village is always popular with photographers and tourists, looking for the perfect village picture.
Much like it’s duck pond, the village is a tranquil hideaway perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Limestone cottages and farmhouses make up the village, and any new house in the village must be constructed from local stone, directly from one of the local quarries. In the centre you will also find a small gift shop, a cafe and the Square and Compass Pub. The cafe – Worth Matravers Tea Room – is a cracking spot, serving lovely lunches, vintage afternoon teas and delicious suppers.
The village enjoys a fabulous community atmosphere, and you will be made to feel very welcome when you visit. The main hub of the community is the Square and Compass Pub, serving award winning beer or cider. They also host regular live music throughout the year, mainly in the evenings and on Sunday afternoons.
If you are looking for a nearby beach, then you will be pleasantly surprised to find there are three rocky beaches nearby. Winspit, Seacombe and Chapman's Pool are all within walking distance of the village.
