Cottages in Whitby

For those dreaming of a Yorkshire seaside holiday, where the harbour is lively and the winding streets invite passes by to delve in and sniff out what's on offer, Whitby is the perfect place.

Brassy pubs, cosy cafes and independent shops can be found along the cobbled streets, with the picturesque harbour and sandy shores all within minutes of each other. Climb the 199 steps up to the impressive abbey ruins for the best view over this historic fishing town, or take the dog for a walk along the edge of the surf on one of the two beaches either side of the River Esk. With museums, galleries and Robin Hood's Bay just 5 miles away, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to activities.

A picture-perfect coastal town, Whitby also boasts being just minutes from the North York Moors National Park with its seemingly endless miles of heather moorland which can be explored on foot or astride two wheels following one of the many cycle routes. Whether you want to pull on your wellies or your flip flops, you really do get the best of both worlds.

But it's not all about seaside fun and walks amongst the heather; Whitby is also the birthplace of Count Dracula. His creator, Bram Stoker, visited in the latter part of the 19th century and is said to have taken much of the inspiration for his book from the town itself, in particular St Mary's Church and the abbey. Now, hundreds flock here with costumes at the ready for the two annual Goth Festivals which is an experience like no other!

If you're thinking of staying in Whitby, we have a host of lovely properties here to suit your every wish and whim. From cosy fishermen's cottages tucked away in secluded courtyards, to bright, spacious and contemporary apartments. So whether it’s a family holiday, a group get-together or a romantic retreat, have a peruse through our selection of properties to see what gems we have waiting for you in Whitby.
