It was in a great location for what we wanted to do. It was quiet which we liked. We had fantastic weather and could use the rooftop terrace. The parking options we were given wasnt straight forward. Well what can I say about Blackburn retreat absolutely wonderful!! This is our second visit here for one week. The cottage is fantastic! Charles and Gemma have thought of every little detail to make it feel home from. The facilities are second to none! Comfortable bed, with lovely, quality linen. The bedroom looking down over all the cottage gardenRead mores which is picture perfect. Even though you are in prime position of the bustling cobbled streets of Whitby (literally a stones through) the terrace is so peaceful and quaint- a wonderful sun trap if you are lucky to get the weather as we did the terrace is also secure, and has rattan garden furniture to enjoy. The Kitchen is to a very high spec with a Smeg range oven, and matching crockery and glasses. The Sitting room is very comfortable to relax after a day of exploring, again all furnished to a high spec. Bathroom has a very generous size shower, that is extremely powerful, with endless hot water. The best thing it is pet friendly!! Which is a massive must for us. It is so refreshing to stay in pet friendly accommodation that is so clean, and well maintained! Blackburn is a hidden gem, and would be a shame not to share so others can enjoy. If you are considering booking this old fishermans cottage, do it!! you wont be disappointed. Hide

We stayed here for Christmas. The cottage was lovely, right in the heart of Whitby. There are quite a few steps leading to the cottage so not good for anyone with mobility issues. Parking was quite expensive, cost just over 40 for the 4 days we stayed. The ceilings and doorways are very low which was a problem for my partner as he is 6 ft. Beautiful little apartment in an amazing location in the old town. Really nicely decked out, with enough space for a couple - and their dog. This is a very pretty cottage in the centre of the town but also very quiet. There are a lot of steps to it so would not suit someone with mobility issues, and you have to take your luggage quite a way from the carpark. However well worth it once you get there. Whitby is the prettiest place you could imagine, and we are definitely going again.

The cottage is lovely inside, decorated tastefully and modern but still remains charming. The location is great, tucked away off the main shopping street with plenty of restaurants and cosy pubs to visit. Beach is beautiful and the cottage is by the 199 steps. We loved our stay at here and would definitely stay again.
