With Brighton on your doorstep, a short bus ride away, you have the best of both worlds when staying in Saltdean. Visit attractions that keep the whole family entertained, browse the unique shops of The Laines, or visit some of the city’s iconic landmarks. If you are looking to do something a little different then walk along the undercliff to the historic village of Rottingdean and visit its quaint shops and pubs.

Saltdean is also near the South Downs National Park, making it a prime spot for exploring this unique national park, which is a hybrid of coast and country. The South Downs stretches from Hampshire to Sussex, so naturally has hundreds of walking routes, one of which is the 9.6-mile trek from Lewes to Saltdean. Setting off from Saltdean, follow the South Downs Way trail and travel through the historic town of Rodmell, famous for being the home of Virginia Woolf for many years. This is quite a long walk, but the beauty of the South Downs Way is that you can travel as far or as little as you’d like and still get to take in panoramic views of East Sussex’s green fields and white cliffs. A stay in Saltdean gives you sun, sea and special memories, so don’t hesitate to start planning your next trip to this idyllic little part of the East Sussex coast.
