Cottages in Broadstairs

We have a select collection of holiday lets in the Kentish seaside town of Broadstairs and the surrounding area. Once a favourite destination of Charles Dickens, Broadstairs always charms its visitors with its array of sandy bays. Our self-catering accommodation in Broadstairs includes properties with stunning sea views. We also have some dog-friendly holiday cottages in the area.

Viking Bay is the most popular beach in the area, and in its harbour is a house, known as Bleak House, where Charles Dickens is said to have written David Copperfield - ironically not Bleak House! If all this Dickens talk is interesting to you, be sure to visit the Dickens House Museum in Broadstairs, which sports a collection of the author’s personal items. If you’d prefer a day on the beach, Viking Bay is perfect for bathing, with seasonal lifeguards, tidal pool and rock pools. Nearby (3.5 miles), Margate hosts a selection of our holiday cottages; it's a popular seaside town, home to the Turner Contemporary, Dreamland amusement park, beautiful sandy beaches and lots of eateries and hip places to visit.

Joss Bay is another favourite of visitors to Broadstairs. The bay is protected by chalky white cliffs and backs onto the North Foreland golf course, a must-visit for any fans of the sport. Joss Bay was named after an infamous smuggler, Joss Snelling, who notoriously used the beach as a smuggling point for contraband, but these days the bay is mostly used for leisure and the occasional surfer. If you fancy trying surfing for the first time, or if you already enjoy surfing whilst on holiday, there is a surf school on the beach where you can hire surfboards and have lessons. Botany Bay is also great for water sports including kayaking, canoeing, swimming, sunbathing, fossil hunting, bodyboarding and kite-flying. For those who’d rather just kick back and relax, it also has a deck chair rental service.

Broadstairs town is also home to a real assortment of local shops, eateries and hidden gems. Have a browse of our Broadstairs cottages on this page, or broaden your search to explore all of our Kent holiday cottages.
