Get back to nature at this rustic yurt, set in a peaceful private meadow in a glamping site on the outskirts of the village of Bramfield – just 3 miles from the market town of Halesworth. Sleeping two people, it’s perfect for couples who are in search of a back-to-basics glamping tent to call home while they explore the Suffolk coast together. Spend a day at RSPB Minsmere (8 miles), where otters and water voles make their homes among the reedbeds, and then head to the coast at Southwold (10 miles) to treat yourself to fish and chips on the seafront. Inland, step back in time at Framlingham Castle (13 miles), where you can stroll along the top of the medieval walls and spot the tall Tudor chimneys crowning its towers.
Head up the steps and inside this charming yurt. Enter and you’ll discover a welcoming open-plan space, where timber roof poles fan out overhead from the lattice walls. At its heart sits a double bed, while a futon doubles as extra seating by day and an extra bed when needed. Pull up a chair at the dining table for a meal indoors. Over at the shared outdoor kitchen, you’ll find everything you need for simple breakfasts and hearty evening meals, as well as an indoor dining and social room alongside – the ideal spot for board games if the weather turns. A composting toilet is on hand by the yurt, and you’ll find lockable shower rooms and WCs are 500 metres away above the cart lodge.
Step outside onto your own raised deck, where you can set out the deckchairs and while away sunny days with a book and views across the meadow. Down on the grass, a fire pit and bench seating make the perfect spot to linger after dark, and a BBQ is ready for al fresco suppers. Just one other yurt shares the meadow, each positioned to ensure you have plenty of space and privacy. Private parking is available for two cars.
