Property code: OC-B46359

This three-bedroom cabin sits within Killykeen Forest Park on the shores of Lough Oughter in County Cavan, with its own private hot tub and balcony overlooking the surrounding woodland. Well suited to families and groups of friends, it offers a woodland break with forest trails, on-site water activities, and abundant wildlife to discover. The forest park and lakeshore form part of a designated Special Protection Area and Special Area of Conservation, home to red squirrels, pine martens, otters, and over 47 recorded bird species. From the on-site jetty, boat trips reach the historic Clogh Oughter Castle and the uninhabited Inch Island, set among the intricate network of interconnecting lakes. Back on land, a 30-mile cycling loop winds through Belturbet, Miltown, and Killeshandra, while shorter walking and cycling trails criss-cross the forest park itself.

The ground floor opens into a generous open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space, with large windows filling the room with natural light. A wood burner provides a warm focal point for the sitting area, which has comfortable seating arranged around a Smart TV. Books and games are provided throughout the cabin, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. Alongside the kitchen, a dining area creates a sociable setting for family meals. A staircase from the living area leads to the first floor, where three bedrooms and a family bathroom are arranged along a central landing. The super-king-size master bedroom has a private en-suite shower room with a shower and WC. Next door, a king-size double bedroom provides a second generous sleeping space, while beyond it, a twin bedroom offers flexibility for children or additional guests. Between the king-size and twin bedrooms, the family bathroom features a bathtub, a separate shower, and a WC.

The cabin has its own private balcony overlooking the woodland and a private outdoor hot tub. The enclosed garden has a BBQ area and a covered outdoor seating area. Across the wider site, guests have access to shared facilities including bicycle hire, kayak hire, boat hire and tours, paddleboards, fishing, spa treatments with a Japanese bath and sauna, and a licensed bar, all shared with other guests. Parking is provided in a free car park on-site.
