Set in a quiet corner of rural Cornwall, this shepherd’s hut with a private outdoor dining area is a cosy hideaway for two, with open countryside, dark skies, and both the north and south coasts within 9.5 miles.
Four wooden steps lead to the hut’s entrance, opening into a compact, timber-clad interior where the kitchen, dining and sleeping areas share one welcoming room. Double glazing and an electric wall heater keep things comfortable when the temperature drops. The kitchenette is equipped for straightforward meals, with a microwave, single induction hob, fridge, kettle and toaster. A welcome pack of household essentials is provided too. A breakfast bar with two chairs is the spot for breakfast, supper or a game of cards. Nearby, the raised double bed is made up ready for your arrival, and the en-suite shower room has a hot-and-cold shower and conventional WC. There’s also a TV and Starlink Wi-Fi for evenings indoors or keeping in touch with home. Outside, a private courtyard with a picnic table and deck chairs gives you somewhere to sit in the fresh air, with another hut next door. New for 2027, a private two-person hot tub offers the perfect place to relax and soak beneath Cornwall's dark night skies. Beyond the courtyard, there’s a children’s play park and mown paths wind through shared wild fields, where rabbits can often be spotted. With little town lighting nearby, the night sky is wonderfully dark, making a late-night look at the stars well worth it. On-site parking is available.
Walk sections of the South West Coast Path for clifftop views and hidden coves, or head to Stithians Lake Activities Centre (2 miles) to try your hand at watersports. Falmouth (9.5 miles) is the place to join a sea-safari trip, explore its maritime heritage or find a tempting eatery, while St Ives (17 miles) beckons with sandy beaches, independent shops, bars and restaurants.
