A stunning grade II listed Georgian farmhouse which is a family home for 8 months of the year but a delightful holiday home for the Summer. Head to Castleton (0.5 miles), where you’ll find shops, welcoming eateries, famous caverns, and the ruins of Peveril Castle perched high above the village. It’s the perfect place to begin exploring this celebrated corner of the Peak District. The property sits close to the Lose Hill to Mam Tor ‘Great Ridge’ walk, one of the most iconic ridge routes in the country, offering breathtaking views across the Hope and Edale valleys. From here you can take your pick of superb walking trails. Further afield, visit the village of Eyam (10 miles), known for its poignant plague history and museum, or head to picturesque Bakewell (10 miles), set beside the River Wye and famous for its delicious pudding. On warmer days, enjoy shaded walks with four-legged friends through Padley Gorge (8 miles), where waterfalls, rocky streams and ancient woodland create a beautiful setting.

Enter the generous and useful conservatory, complete with a small sofa where you can relax after a day exploring. A handy WC sits just off this space. From here you’ll head into the welcoming kitchen, keeping up the farmhouse feel with its large kitchen table creating a sociable hub for breakfasts, board games or planning the next day’s adventures. Continue through to the large lounge, a relaxing space to unwind after long walks across the hills. The dining room sits next to this, offering another lovely space for gathering over meals, while a separate study downstairs provides a quiet corner if anyone needs to catch up on reading or work. Upstairs there are four bedrooms – two king-size, and a twin leading through to a double, which has an en suite shower room. The family bathroom has a free-standing bath and separate shower cubicle, completing the layout of this lovely holiday home.

Breathe easily with lots of space to enjoy outside, including the lovely south-facing garden and furnished patio, perfect for a relaxing holiday sundowner or a tranquil morning cuppa before everyone else gets up.
