A captivating studio apartment that is part of a townhouse in a tranquil setting in the heart of Bath, it is ideal as a private and restful retreat for couples, and an easy drive to explore the surrounding breathtaking Somerset countryside. Within half a mile of the property, you can find the famous Pulteney Bridge, thriving city life, the historic Roman Baths, and the start of the 6-mile circular Bath Skyline walk. Less than 8 miles away, you’ll find the town of Bradford-On-Avon with its beautiful buildings, canal walk and restaurants and inns, whilst the start of the Bristol and Bath Railway Path is just 2.5 miles away, which offers traffic-free cycling and walking. Alternatively, you can visit the famous historic houses of Longleat and Corsham Court, which are 20 and 10 miles respectively.

This is a delightful property with the entrance located down a steep set of 17 steps. The entrance leads into the loggia, where you can sit and enjoy an al fresco drink. There are three steps up into the main apartment, which is a sleek and contemporary open-plan studio. There is a striking yet compact kitchen with everything for your self-catering requirements. A sweet little antique Pembroke table is perfect for a glass of wine while dinner is prepared. The main studio room provides an eye-catching and contemporary twist on the former Georgian kitchens which would have occupied this floor over two centuries ago. This high-ceilinged room boasts a sparkling chandelier, and natural light floods in from the two large original sash windows with working shutters. The ornate fireplace today houses a TV and there is a cosy sofa too. The bed is a sumptuous king-size beneath its tapestry hangings and tester overhead, complete with period fittings, including crystal wall lights on either side. The half-panelled bathroom is contemporary and sleek.

The apartment has a courtyard and a loggia – perfect for morning coffees or evening tipples. Alternatively, the Beazer Garden Maze is 150 metres away and Bath City Parade Gardens is a nearby riverside park with a bandstand and cafe (350 metres). The nearest car park is just over 300 metres away.

  • Courtyard and loggia – The loggia and courtyard are three steps lower than the main apartment and there is no handrail. There is a small threshold between the loggia and the courtyard, which has garden furniture

Perfect location, a short and beautiful walk from the city centre. All the little details needed for any stay were already thought of- dishwasher and washer pods, extra towels, etc. They were lovely to accommodate early check in!

Delightful bijou studio flat with spacious bathroom and a separate kitchenette. I enjoyed the sense of luxury yet simplicity in the decor. It had everything I needed. In unusually hot temperatures it stayed relatively cool which enabled me to have best sleep ever. Briliant location. So quiet as is in a no through residential road, and yet right by Read morethe Poultenay Bridge and minutes from the river and Abbey. Hosts were extremely responsive, helpful and thoughtful. I would definitely stay here again. Hide
