Guests are welcome to explore the seventeen acres of magical woodland and meadow or stroll down to the River Fowey which offers inclusive fishing rights to first-class salmon and trout. Well-situated near the A30, there are a host of beaches nearby including Looe (10 miles) as well as Fowey (14 miles) with its fantastic shops, great cafes and quirky gift shops. Guests can wander through 17 acres of picturesque woodland and meadow or enjoy fishing along the River Fowey, known for its excellent salmon and trout. Its proximity to the A30 and A38 makes it easy to visit tourist spots including Looe (10 miles) and Fowey (14 miles). There’s something here for everyone within 10 miles of home - whether you’re marvelling at the exotic flora and fauna of the Eden Project, or visiting the National Trust’s impressive late Victorian country house at Lanhydrock, 5 miles away, to explore the house, gardens and parkland.
As you enter this beautiful lodge you are immediately met with a spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to cook up a feast or prepare a refreshing drink or two. The lounge boasts stylish interiors and comfortable seating, where you can sit back in front of the TV to watch a movie, or simply open up the French doors and watch the wildlife from the dining table. The bedrooms and bathrooms lead off from the lounge. The first of which is a welcoming master bedroom a king-size bed, large en-suite shower room beautiful south-facing windows looking towards the valley and river. To the other end of the lodge are two further bedrooms; a twin room with garden views out over the river and a bright, spacious king-size bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and south-facing windows looking towards the valley and river. Completing the lodge is a large shower room.
From the French doors in the lounge there are 3 steps that lead out onto the lawn and private patio area with charcoal BBQ and views over the River Fowey. This area makes for a fabulous spot to sit and relax whilst watching the ever-changing wildlife or to dine alfresco in the sunshine. You also have access to the 17 acres of woodland and meadows.
Private fishing rights allow the fisher folk in your party to enjoy our fully licensed stretch of the river Fowey. A true moorland river, the Fowey rises at the highest point in Cornwall near Brown Willy on Bodmin. It flows for 30 miles to the sea at Fowey, passing us here below your stay at Rivermead, and is little influenced by agricultural or industrial activities. Characteristically termed 'gin clear' within the community, it provides a good challenge to the keenest of fly fishers.
