Part of a 300-year-old barn, this bolt-hole for two is this cosy one-level cottage offering an ideal escape for couples looking for some quality time together. Being conveniently located near the A30 allows you to visit a host of beaches nearby including Looe (10 miles) as well as Fowey (14 miles) with its fantastic shops, great cafes, and quirky gift shops. For a fun day out, the Eden project is less than 10 miles away and has something for everybody to enjoy. Lanhydrock House and garden is always a popular day out, both the Bodmin and award winning Carlyon Bay golf courses, and Truro is only a short drive away.
Just inside the door is a very handy porch with space to store hats and coats and kick off your walking boots. Entering into the cottage and to your left is a fully equipped galley kitchen providing all you need to cook up a hearty breakfast or pack up a good lunch for the day ahead. Also off the hallway is a pretty lounge/diner complete with comfortable seating, exposed stone walls, south-facing windows, TV with Freeview and DVD. There's also a dining space for two offering the perfect spot for morning coffee or snuggling down together to watch all your favourite programs. Leading off from the lounge is a double bedroom flooded with natural light and a wonderful relaxing feel. Completing this cottage is the bright and airy shower room.
Outside there's seating area with outdoor furniture and charcoal BBQ to sit and dine alfresco.
Take a dawn walk along our very own stretch of the famous Fowey river and our 17 acres of wild meadow and woodland paths or perhaps try and spot the resident kingfishers, then enjoy your morning coffee while you admire the beautiful woodland stretching across the valley. Perhaps take your lunch and stroll down to our beautiful lake, nestle on one of our dedicated seating areas to enjoy the sound of the river and spot the wildlife.
Private fishing rights allow the fisher folk in your party to enjoy our fully licensed stretch of the river Fowey. A true moorland river, the Fowey rises at the highest point in Cornwall near Brown Willy on Bodmin. It flows for 30 miles to the sea at Fowey, passing us here below your stay at Rivermead, and is little influenced by agricultural or industrial activities. Characteristically termed 'gin clear' within the community, it provides a good challenge to the keenest of fly fishers.
