Colomen Glamping Lodge is located on the owner's working farm in Talybont-on-Usk, in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The lodge sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms, but it’s also perfect for a couple. One of the rooms has a large double bed, one has twin beds and the other a double cabin bed (accessed by four ladder steps). It’s cosy and beautifully well equipped. The sitting area has a woodburner, sofa and two chairs around the blanket box which is filled with board games and books. The kitchen area has everything you’ll need, with a hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, kettle and toaster. Outside, there’s a ‘Pitch Pod’ shower room, with a shower, a flushing toilet and basin. The lodge has its own private hot tub, and a fire pit to while away the evening.
You are welcome to tour the farm with the owner and a short stroll from the glamping field is Gilestone Pond, a tranquil feature and a haven for wildlife where you are likely to spot pheasants, buzzards, red kites and herons. The owner is passionate about conservation and you will be see several community initiatives on the farm and in the local village, Talybont-on-Usk.
The village of Talybont-on-Usk offers great variety; there is a canal, 2 rivers, a reservoir, hills, woods, waterfalls, wildlife, local arts and crafts, a village shop and wi-fi cafe, 3 pubs and a restaurant. There are plenty of fabulous walks from Gilestone and Talybont; take an easy stroll along the canal, an epic circular hike taking in all the Central Beacons or a short walk around the stunning Talybont Waterfalls. Local visitor attractions including Cantref Adventure Farm, the Play Barn at Brynich, The Red Kite Feeding Centre, the Brecon Mountain Railway and the spectacular National Showcaves at Dan yr Ogof are all within easy reach.
