Self-catering holiday cottages in Branscombe

Branscombe is one of Devon’s most picturesque coastal villages and we have a fine selection of holiday homes in the local area. As Branscombe is a historic little village, it is no surprise that many of our cottages in the area date back to the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Having been lovingly and stylishly renovated, these homes retain all their original charms whilst making for a perfectly modern and comfortable stay. From thatched rooves, to pretty enclosed gardens, our cottages in Branscombe are truly lovely. A large portion are also dog-friendly and many offer fantastic views of the Devon countryside too.

Things to Do in Branscombe

There is so much to see and do in Branscombe, but one of the village’s main draws is that it is proud of its local history, and showcases it in many ways. One unusual, and fun way to discover Branscombe’s local history is at Old Bakery. Old Bakery has lots of pictures, scrapbooks, and artefacts of its baking past on display for visitors to take in whilst they enjoy fresh cakes and treats with a warm coffee or a cold glass of beer or wine. The Manor Mill is also a place of local significance and is now a visitor’s centre where people can learn all about the life of the nineteenth century millers that once populated Branscombe.

Branscombe is also situated close to a series of walks that will transport you across the Jurassic Coast, England’s first World Heritage Follow the coastal path to Sidmouth to the west or Beer and Seaton to the east, and take in the impressive views of the cliffs and beaches all around.

For a spot of lunch or dinner, head to The Masons Arms or the Fountain Inn, Branscombe’s two local pubs. Alternatively, if you’re down at Branscombe Beach, heading to the Sea Shanty Cafe is an absolute must. Selling some of the finest Devonshire seafood, snacks and drinks, this coastal cafe has something for everyone to enjoy.
