This house was perfect for our needs. Comfy bed and sofas. Ideally situated for the town, beach and dog walking. Great food at the Anchor and Bistro.

We had a lovely couple of days in Beer. Purley cottage was spacious and comfortable with everything you need whilst away. The sofas and beds were very comfortable and the bed linen was pristine. An added bonus to have the car parking space (small car) outside the property. Thank you for the welcome gift awaiting us to - much appreciated. PurleRead morey is perfectly located to enjoy Beer - beach, pubs, restaurants and shops all a short walk away. Thoroughly recommend The Dolphin for a meal, the Anchor Pub garden, Woozie's deli, the Chocolate Gift Shop and we always pop in to the RNLI shop by the beach. We walked to Seaton along the coast path and we visited the Caves - very interesting tour with a very knowledgeable guide. As we were only in Beer for a couple of days, we didn't have time to visit Branscombe or go on the tram from Seaton to Colyton - we have done these many times over the years and always love it. We will definitely be back in Beer soon - it is such a relaxing, friendly place. Don't forget to have a beer in Beer at the Bottle of Beer pub! Hide

We came for a wet week in February, the house was spacious, very clean, and had all that we needed for a warm cosy week. It was very reasonably priced and due to this were werent expecting super luxury, the house is exactly what we paid for; basic but clean and comfortable, spacious for 6 people. Lovely to walk to the beach. A great town for food aRead morend convenience. Well located. The open fire was nice to have too. Hide

Good sized cottage and very well equipped. Small and awkwardly shaped car parking space but it is right outside cottage. The area is very hilly.

I have been staying at the purley every year apart from Covid years since 2018. Over the years not much has changed in the property. But this year, well, it was lovely to see some needed improvements made. A new king size bed in the man room, new bunk beds, new rugs in all bedrooms, new curtains, cushions and rug in the lounge, a new smart tv, and Read morenew doors into the garden. As a family of 6 and a dog there are not many properties in beer to accomodate us all so the purley is the perfect size for us. The kitchen has plenty of crockery and utensils to feed more than just us. As a family holiday we often have around 13 people for dinner at least one night and there is the space and equipment to do this nicely. The property is an old property but it does what we need it to for our yearly family holiday. The garden is ok, but I do have to do a make shift block off every year to stop my dog and little boy trying to get up the dangerous steps that run up the back garden. These could do with blocking off. Parking for a small car outside, I mange to get my smax on the drive but it can be quite difficult to get on there with the shape of the wall. All in all we like it here and will be continuing to come as long as its available to rent out. Hide

Lovely cottage in a great location. The property could do with a bit of updating, in places it was looking a bit tired but very comfortable and in a great location. Really well equipped kitchen plus games and DVD's although there didn't seem to be a DVD player as advertised

Purley is a lovely, large and airy cottage .It has a beautiful seating area outside and the added bonus of a parking space. However the cleanliness (or lack of) really let's the property down.

Beer itself is very picturesque and the house is fairly central. Although the kitchen is well equipped it is all looking in need of TLC and a redecoration. The photos on the website must have been taken many years ago as it is not like it now. The sofa in the lounge has got to be the most uncomfortable I have used. There is no garden only patio,Read more with a strange gate and no fence. There are no carpets which make the place sound very empty. No bedding which we knew but there are no bath mats or oven gloves. It was very disappointing so much so that we left two days early. It felt like student digs but not the price paid for student digs especially out of season. No option to attach photos taken Hide

Large cottage light and airy and in a good position in the village, needs some updates both inside and out. It's a bonus having the sun on the patio from early morning to early evening.Washing line and pegs would of been handy, Would of been helpful if we had known the washer, was in fact a washer dryer before we arrived, better photos of the patioRead more would be beneficial.
