Reviews

Absolutely idyllic and utterly charming accommodation. Ideally situated to near all the wonderful sights of Whitby. The kindest and most gracious hosts. Spotless with everything you could possibly need. Could not recommend more. We will definitely be booking again.

Mrs N,

Fantastic cottage. Fantastic location. Fantastic hosts. So clean, with such a thoughtful well equipped kitchen. (The range of dog bowls alone provided was amazing.) Gorgeous bath, comfortable bed. The best welcome pack I think we have experienced, dog treats included. Lovely garden, even in September it was a little sun trap. Vinnie our dachshund particularly enjoyed squirrel watching. Hoping to return in the new year. Thanks so much, a perfect stay.

Ms K,

This is our 2nd visit to the cottage it fits our needs perfectly. Great for our two labs as the garden is secure & it is only a ten minute walk to the beach or to town. We were lucky to get parked right outside the cottage but we knew this maybe hit & miss but you can always move the car if needed once a space is there. We have already booked again for next June & Carol is brilliant & so helpful.

Mr K,

Lovely cottage absolutely spotless

Miss W,

Beautifully decorated / furnished cottage in an excellent location only a short stroll to Whitby town centre and harbour. Ideal location for exploring further afield.

Mr K,

Beautiful and confortable and really well furnished and equipped. If staying in Whitby again we wouldn’t bother to look for alternatives.

Mr R,

Everything you need, spotless, lovely enclosed garden for dogs, will go again.

Mrs S,

Great cottage great location. Garden is lovely and sucure for the dogs. Parking could be an issue as it is street parking so not guaranteed a parking spot but we never had any issues. Would definitely recommend and we have already booked again for next year. The owner was really helpful and very approachable she was very welcoming.

Mr K,

Fantastic cottage , real cosy home from home . Lovely owners and nothing too much trouble. Thank you xxx

Mrs S,

The property was well managed and looked after, it suited our needs very well.

Mr N,

Easy to book, happy with location. There was a couple of things for the cleanliness, one being there was an old nail file on the bathroom cupboard and the front porch drain didn’t smell very nice. There is a low beam on the top floor with no warning which me and my daughter both banged our heads on when going from the room to down-or up the stairs. Apart from those things all was good. Great location and has all the necessities you could need. Great for dogs, enclosed (small garden) which did look bigger in the pictures .

Mrs Julia B,

Location

Whitby
Whitby is a popular choice for visitors all year round. It is well known for its long sandy beach and delicious seafood. The river Esk flows through the town to the sea and cottages are perched on the hills on each side, with cobbled streets and historic yards providing a maze of places to explore. The town has a fantastic mix of modern shops and services, traditional stores and boutique shops. Whitby jet continues to be made into beautiful jewellery and sold in a number of shops.  There are plenty of excellent restaurants which serve local fish and seafood, as well as a wonderful choice of cafes and tearooms.

The ruins of Whitby Abbey stand dominantly on the clifftop and can be reached by climbing the 199 steps from the old town. The Abbey is said to have been the inspiration for Bram Stoker's novel Count Dracula, and its gothic splendour is the perfect place from which to take in some truly stunning views over the town, harbour and coastline. Whitby harbour is steeped in history and visitors can see where British explorer Captain James Cook first worked as an apprentice before setting sail and discovering Australia. A statue of this great explorer stands proudly above the town, along with some huge whalebones, a sign of the town's maritime history. The harbour is a buzz of activity and you can enjoy early mornings watching the fishing boats come ashore before getting first choice of their catch of the day.

There's always something happening throughout the town, with festivals and fairs are held throughout the year. These include Whitby Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, and there are two popular Goth festivals each year.
