Mount Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, forms part of the national park and perhaps one of the best ways to see it is on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. For walkers, there is a range of options so something for everyone, whether you want to tackle the challenge of Snowdon itself or walk on the gentler inclines of the lower levels. Cyclists are also well catered for with many purpose-built routes of varying difficulty.

Snowdonia National Park borders the Irish Sea, sitting as it does on the furthest point of West Wales, making this landscape an intoxicating mix of mountains and coastline. Spend your days alternating between the grandeur and stunning scenery of Snowdonia and the beaches of the Llŷn Peninsula, a finger of land which juts out into the Irish Sea. There are several resorts around the Llŷn Peninsula, an area rich in wildlife and Celtic history but also a perfect destination for a traditional bucket and spade holiday. If you can find any time to spare, then the historic and vibrant city of Chester is just over an hour’s drive away from the eastern side of the national park.
