The area has a wealth of attractions and landmarks including Bateman’s, the former home of Rudyard Kipling; Brede Steam Giants, an impressive industrial museum; and the tranquil Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest. Also within easy reach are the well-preserved 14th-century Bodiam Castle and the ruins of Bayham Old Abbey and Scotney Castle. The South Coast is within easy reach, with the vibrant town of Hastings and the characterful seaside resort of Bexhill-on-Sea both within 15 miles. Just 5 miles south of Robertsbridge, history lovers can visit English Heritage’s 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield.
