Self-catering holidays in Robertsbridge

Enveloped by the glorious rural surroundings of the stunning High Weald National Landscape, our stylish range of Robertsbridge cottages offer cosy and relaxing accommodation for couples, families and groups of friends enjoying a peaceful break in Sussex. Built along the banks of the River Rother, the charming village of Robertsbridge dates back to medieval times when it was built to support the local abbey. The village is also home to the Gray-Nicolls company, makers of the famous cricket bat range since 1876. Around the village and across the nearby countryside, we have a fantastic choice of fresh and welcoming self-catering holiday cottages, with properties including beautiful detached country houses, a characterful former inn, cheery bungalows, and delightful traditional period cottages.

Robertsbridge is a characterful and thriving rural village, perfect for walkers and cyclists exploring the High Weald, with neighbouring villages and market towns including Hawkhurst, Burwash, Northiam and Bodiam. The area has a wealth of attractions and landmarks including Bateman’s, the former home of Rudyard Kipling; Brede Steam Giants, an impressive industrial museum; and the tranquil Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest. Also within easy reach are the well-preserved 14th-century Bodiam Castle and the ruins of Bayham Old Abbey and Scotney Castle. The South Coast is within easy reach, with the vibrant town of Hastings and the characterful seaside resort of Bexhill-on-Sea both within 15 miles. Just 5 miles south of Robertsbridge, history lovers can visit English Heritage’s 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield.
