The College Valley runs north from the top of Cheviot, the renovated old mill is at Hethpool across the College Burn. This stone cottage provides exceptional accommodation in which to relax and enjoy the solitude and exhilarating sense of freedom found in the valley, which is a sanctuary for wildlife and home to a great variety of flora. Starting from next to the cottage the Harrow Bog is the largest semi natural ancient woodland in the Northumberland National Park. Walkers who seek unspoilt and natural landscape with spectacular scenery need look no further. There are four challenging circular Hillfort Trails in the College Valley - Hethas Hike, Ring Chesters Round, Four Forts Foray and the River and Ramparts Ramble and many other walks of varying difficulty or you can just wander down to the stream. Close to Hethpool Lake. Hethpool Mill has grown more and more popular each year.

BOOKINGS CAN START ON ANY DAY OF THE WEEK AND LEAVE ANY DAY WITH A MINIMUM LET OF 3 NIGHTS.

Ground floor - Large beamed sitting room with log burning stove, Smart TV,  DVD, video, CD radio, MP3 dock and french windows out to stone patio. Arch through to dining area with double sofa bed which provides the flexibility of sleeping two additional guests on request.

Kitchen with breakfast room, dual fuel gas range, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer.  Utility room, washing machine and tumble dryer. 

Bathroom with over bath electric shower and WC.

First floor - Bedroom 1 - King-size bed. 

Bedroom 2 - Two small 4ft double beds.

We really enjoyed our week at the cottage it was very peaceful and the dog loved it also. We didn't use the two kennels on site but it was useful to have them if we needed them. Would book again

Beautiful accommodation in a beautiful setting. Everything you would need in the kitchen, but take your own consumables as theres only salt and pepper and a small amount of tea and coffee.

Absolutely perfect. The most peaceful, tranquil Christmas we have ever had. The christmas tree and gifts were a nice and welcome surprise on arrival. The Mill was spotless on arrival and very warm and welcoming after long walks in the beautiful surrounding area. We loved every minute and will book again soon.

Our fifth stay in the valley, this is such an amazingly quiet and peaceful location. The Mill was spotlessly clean on arrival. Its well stocked and equipped. We walked straight up into the Cheviot Hills and had them almost to ourselves. We stayed during a very cold snap with snow but the Mill was very warm. The log burner a godsend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and had a really relaxing time. It is a beautiful cottage in a stunningly peaceful location and we loved seeing the sheep and their lambs wandering past. Really well equipped cottage especially the kitchen, and lots of cushions for comfort. Wifi was very good. Cottage was really clean when we arrived

A beautiful, rural cottage which was so peaceful and a delight to stay in. Cottage was very clean on arrival, very well stocked with everything you need for a self catering holiday. We had wonderful weather as well which really helped but cottage was so cosy that even with poor weather you will be more than comfortable. Hepple Mill Cottage is in a truly delightful location away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. The walks from the door are wonderful and it was perfect for our dog with good spaces for him to dry off if he got wet. The cottage was lovely and warm even though we had some very cold nights and the woodburning stove made the sitting room very Read morehomely. The cottage was so clean, the decoration perfect, the beds were heavenly, the linen & towels just wonderful. We really couldn't have wished for anything better. I've now been to Hethpool at least 5 times & the cottage never disappoints - well done to all concerned.

Absolutely amazing location if you are looking for a remote cottage with breathtaking walks straight from the door. Fully enclosed garden was superb for our two dogs to carry out there patrols. Wifi was excellent considering the location. !Would definitely recommend! Thanks for having us, Dan and Liz

This cottage is delightfully situated close to a range of paths, including the St Cuthbert's Way. We enjoyed birdsong wherever we walked, saw many raptors, wild goats, hares and a wide range of invertebrates. Nature thrives here!
