Description

With magnificent views out to the Farne Islands and the rocky cove below beckoning, this detached house in Benthall has a lot to offer a group of friends or a family looking for a coastal adventure. Visitors will find local amenities in Beadnell (0.5 miles) and the horseshoe-shaped bay there is famous for its golden sands and water sports. This cottage is between from two historically-important castles of the Northumberland coastline – imposing Bamburgh (5.5 miles), made popular in recent times by the TV show ‘The Last Kingdom’, and the ruins at Dunstanburgh 9.5 miles away. Drive over the causeway from Beal to Lindisfarne (19.5 miles), and make sure you know the tide times so as not to get cut off from the mainland!

A spacious yet cosy lounge awaits when you enter this charming property. Sit back on the comfy seating in front of the electric fire, perhaps watching a bit of TV on a relaxing night in. Patio doors provide access to the balcony, and stairs lead down to the enclosed rear garden. The dining room is light and airy thanks to the patio doors that open onto the balcony. The dining table is strategically placed to make the most of the natural light, and there is also a breakfast bar and quaint country-style dresser. The compact kitchen is light and bright, with a separate pantry for storing provisions. There is an additional fridge/freezer and washing machine for use in the garage. A handy WC completes the downstairs layout. Heading upstairs, you will find three bedrooms – a king-size and two twins - and the bathroom, all decorated in neutral, calm tones. Rooms on the front of the house boast stunning views of the sea and coastline.

A large garden sits to the rear of the property, with plenty of space on the lawn for sunbathing, as well as garden furniture and a BBQ. There is a lockable garage for bike storage and space on the balcony to steal a quiet moment and admire the beautiful views.

Reviews

Lovely comfy house with stunning views of the sea.

Miss R,

Fab situation right across from beach. Some peeling paint and mold detracted from interior. However, loved the vintage bathroom suite!

Mrs C,

The good stuff first. Location is excellent. Property is substantial and well equipped and comfortable. Brilliant for dogs as it's completely fenced in and plenty of room. As others before us have also said, internal decor could be improved.

Mr T,

Lovely house, a little dated as previous reviews have said. We found the house very well equipped and very comfortable and cosy. Parking was good once we worked out to use back lane and gate. Large secure garden great for the doggies. Safety gate in the garage to put across the drive, great touch. Views amazing front and back (upstairs). Would definitely use again. If you are planning on doing more self catering I would recommend to take shopping. No shops in Beadnell to talk of and only co-op in Seahouses very expensive. Amazing beach & coastal walks beautiful location.

Ms A,

Although there are areas that require repair and/or modernisation we found the property to have all the equipment and facilities we require. The location and the sea views are beautiful and more than make up for this! The area was lovely and quiet for the Summer holidays!

Mrs X,

A quirky property in an outstanding location, with sea views both front and rear. Superb position for walking to Beadnell Bay, the rocky beaches, the village centre and shop. The house retains a lot of character and a somewhat unusual layout downstairs but we had a very comfortable stay. We would definitely stay here again!

Mrs L,

Cannot find a better positioned property, having sea views from both the front and rear.

Mrs R,

Amazing location and views, very narrow driveway with uneven rear access so a bit tricky to park. Bathroom a little outdated and heating and hot water system need attention too as we had quite a few problems. Owner did respond to our call.

Miss O,

Great stay again at cappenhurst Great for dog walking right on beach

Miss R,

This place is very tired and needs a lot of TLC. Paint and plaster coming off the walls. Cracks in the walls. Tears in curtains. It’s a shame because it’s in a lovely location but we wouldn’t return.

Mrs W,

Excellent location. Warm comfy. Beadnall beach perfect for dogs lovely walks.
