In a tranquil countryside setting, The Signal Box is a truly unique holiday experience. Formerly the main signal box at Wymondham station and dating back to 1900, the building was moved to its present location in 2000 and has been converted into a stunning holiday home by the current owners. The upper floor accommodation has windows on 3 sides, affording great views of the surrounding landscape, gardens and ponds, giving wonderful opportunities to spot the local wildlife whilst having breakfast. The Signal Box sits in the grounds of the owners' home with other attractive farm buildings nearby, giving a hint of the rural life of times past. Directly beside the local public footpath and with dogs accepted, walk into the countryside and leave all your cares behind for a tangible escape from reality! Shop: 2 miles Pub: 4 miles

Upper Floor:
Open Plan Sitting/Dining Room with Kitchen Area pleasantly furnished with a comfortable sofa. Smart TV with Freesat and built-in radio, Wi-Fi, dining table and chairs. Kitchen Area with electric oven and hob, fridge with icebox, microwave, wine cooler. Freezer available for use nearby.

Lower Ground Floor:
Bedroom 1 with double bed and En-Suite Shower Room with shower cubicle, washbasin and wc

Garden: Lawned garden with uncovered ponds, garden furniture and barbecue.
Parking: Designated parking for two cars.
Heating: Electric radiators.

Pets: Two well behaved pets welcome,  please be aware of our booking information regarding pets.
Also Provided: Towels. Books and games. Hairdryer. Secure bicycle storage.
Notes: This is a non-smoking property. Access to The Signal Box, is via a wrought iron external staircase. Washing machine available on request. Please be aware the stairs to the lower ground floor may be difficult for anyone with restricted mobility. This property is in a rural location and you may hear noise from local shoots from time to time especially during December - February.


If you want to relax and retreat from the rat race for a while, then this part of Norfolk could not be bettered. Quiet country lanes, for walking, cycling and birdwatching, cosy country pubs and great food are all to be found locally in the surrounding villages and countryside. The nearby village of Melton Constable has a well renowned butcher's shop that has award winning sausages, with over 28 flavours to choose from including Wild Boar & Juniper, Rhubarb & Sweet Chilli and Venison, Mushroom & Onion - clearly a genuine champion of Norfolk food and drink, which the region is justifiably famous for. Head north and the coastline beckons with lovely seaside villages such as Blakeney and Wells-next-the-Sea in the west and Cromer and Sheringham in the east all with their own individual character and charm. There are two impressive National Trust houses nearby, Felbrigg Hall and Blickling Hall and the elegant Georgian town of Holt with its art and antique galleries, cafe culture, great shopping, small gauge steam railway and local Country Park makes for a great day out.

A nice quirky property in an excellent location with great views and walks straight from the door, well equipped with quality kitchenware and lovely helpful owners. Very comfortable bed and great shower with plenty of hot water, although we found the sofa rather uncomfortable and the windows really difficult to open/close, with the property gettingRead more very warm quickly. Lovely unique place to stay. Full sized kitchen is a bonus when staying a week or more. Location suggests youre in the host garden but its so much more. A small community of properties makes it feel less remote and carp pond, trees and wildlife on the doorstep really add to the holiday vibes. Snug, secure and comfy base to explore Norfolk. The Signal Box was a wonderfully quirky place to stay,we loved every part of it. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop & the views were amazing, everything you could wish for to have a quiet relaxing holiday. Excellent location and very quiet. This is the second time that we've stopped at the Signal Box and we have both enjoyed the holiday again. There is a lot to do around North Norfolk and lots of lovely walks too. Many thanks to Steve for another great week.

As a very thoughtfully, carefully and comfortably refurbished signal box in a tranquil and beautiful rural setting, this property makes for a truly memorable holiday. The owner is close by and very welcoming. Excellent facilities nearby in picturesque Holt. We expect to return!

The signal box is the perfect retreat, relaxing and quiet. It is very well equipped and surprisingly spacious. Our dogs loved it, although they struggled with the steps up. We would love to visit again one day. Lots of places to visit close by.

This was a fabulous place to stay in a fantastic location. It was warm, clean and cosy with great quality equipment. A comfy bed with lovely bedding, a nice big shower and good quality plates and cooking equipment. Thoughtful owners went over and above to ensure the comfort of guests, and the location was excellent for some of Norfolks best coastliRead morene, country walks, wildlife and National Trust properties. Lovely well equipped accommodation with plenty of room for 2 adults and our 2 medium sized dogs. Owners and other permanent residents in the hamlet are.really friendly. Good location for getting out and about. Plenty of local shops and facilities. We drive an electric vehicle and there is a very good fast charger at the Running Horse, FakenhaRead morem. Hide

Brilliant place to stay, totally unique, and ideal to be used as a base or just to unwind. Plenty of animals and birds can be seen just by walking around the drives. Plenty of restaurants / pubs in local area, a post office and takeaways besides local shops. Nicely furnished - great bed and shower. We had a great time and so did our dog
