Description

This pretty, two-bedroom cottage sits in the pleasant coastal village of Bodham on the Norfolk coast and offers cosy accommodation to couples or small families with one dog in tow. Bodham is a delightful base for a getaway, as is the town of Sheringham (3.5 miles) with its quaint cafes, pubs and shops, and the North Norfolk Railway that runs a steam train to the Georgian market town of Holt (4 miles). Eager walkers can discover Sheringham Park (1.5 mile) and Holt Country Park (4 miles), or cross Kelling to reach the gorgeous, secluded beach at Weybourne (3 miles). Other local attractions include Mannington Gardens, Amazona Zoo, Baconsthorpe Castle, and the Muckleburgh Military Collection (all within 7 miles). Nature lovers can head to the stunning Cley Marshes (6.5 miles) and take a boat trip out to observe the seal colony off Blakeney Point.

Park up at the two private bays that await on arrival to this splendid cottage and take a moment to appreciate its attractive pebble exterior, and head inside to find that the charm continues as you step into the welcoming living room. This is the perfect place to rest up after days of coastal adventure, made easy by the crackling wood burner and Smart TV that combine with farmhouse-style fixtures and fittings. When stomachs start to rumble, walk through to the splendid kitchen/diner which offers all you need to whip up a memorable holiday feast, which can be enjoyed from the breakfast table or al fresco-style out in the courtyard garden and if the weather is inclement head undercover to the garden room discreetly tucked away down the bottom of the garden. When day turns to night, head up the cottage stairs and find two peaceful bedrooms, served by a chic family shower room. These rooms include a welcoming master double and a cosy twin bedroom that little ones will love.

Stepping out of the back door from the kitchen, guests can enjoy the cottage’s private and furnished courtyard garden. Surrounded by plants and shrubbery, this is a most peaceful spot to enjoy a quiet morning coffee or sun-soaked evening tipple.

Reviews

Great little cosy cottage. Spent 4 days with my husband at the end of March. When we arrived it was lovely to see the owners had left a welcome pack with snacks, cereal and apple juice. The cottage has all the equipment you could possibly need on holiday. We were grateful for the log burner as, though the days were bright and sunny, the evenings were a bit chilly and there was a well stocked log store in the garden. The cottage is in easy reach of seaside villages and towns and other places of interest. The cottage is an ideal place for a couple or a couple with small children, however I think it might be a bit small for two adult couples to share. We would definitely stay at the cottage again.
