Cottages in Newquay

Newquay is a popular holiday hotspot in North Cornwall with some of the best beaches for surfing and great fish and chips. Our selection of holiday cottages in Newquay, and the nearby settlements of Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth, caters for all with luxury holiday homes, sea-view retreats and country-style cottages.

This delightful seaside town, voted ‘One of the Nation's Favourite Seaside Towns’ according to a Which Holiday survey, ticks all the boxes for a family-friendly holiday in Cornwall. Many of our properties are dog-friendly too!

Newquay’s worldwide acclaim is down to its beaches and surfing. Fistral Beach is one of the top surfing destinations on the planet. The crashing Atlantic waves here are a major draw amongst the surfing community, with some of the top UK and international surf championships taking place in North Cornwall.

Feeling inspired to hit the waves? Why not hire the equipment and book yourself a surf lesson? Several surf schools on Fistral Beach are happy to teach adults and children of all levels of experience. Alternatively, relax on the sand with a coffee and a cake from one of the nearby beach cafes.

Other Newquay beaches worth checking out include Towan Beach, Great Western Beach, Tolcarne Beach, and Lusty Glaze Beach – which is slightly out of town. National Trust-owned Crantock Beach is a beautiful stretch of golden sand backed by dunes between the Gannel River and Pentire Headland. Crantock is lovely for swimming and water sports, and you can hire equipment on the beach – if you’re lucky, you may spot a pod of dolphins too!

If you can tear yourselves away from the fabulous beaches, then we suggest a family trip to Newquay Zoo for a fun and educational day out. Set across 13 acres and just a short drive from town, Newquay Zoo is a registered charity (part of a worldwide network of zoos) dedicated to wildlife conservation. Back on the beachfront is the Blue Reef Aquarium which takes visitors on a journey from the Cornish coast to more exotic waters through 40 naturally-themed habitats.

Newquay hosts several festivals during the summer months, including Boardmasters in August. This surf and music festival showcases the biggest names in music and surf talent in the most spectacular coastal setting. The town also hosts the Newquay Beer Festival and the Fish Festival in September.
