It is less than 10 miles from the award-winning seaside resorts on the Suffolk coast and boasts brilliant attractions that impress even the littlest guests. The town has an intriguing history; it's built upon a Roman settlement and is still filled with fascinating buildings with timber-framed structures and photogenic fronts. It's centred around a pedestrianised thoroughfare, making it a breeze to wander the town and pop into many independent boutiques. Foodies will surely love the selection of restaurants, cafes and delis here too. To the east of the town centre is 50 acres of wildlife-friendly marsh and greenery, which makes it an idyllic route for dog walking or donning your bicycle helmets and following the National Cycle Route, which crosses the area. 

The Suffolk coast can be reached within 10 miles from our Halesworth self-catering cottages (or you could get closer by staying in our Blyford cottages) and is home to some of the UK's golden beaches, including Southwold, Dunwich, Walberswick and Aldeburgh. Places such as Leiston Abbey and Sibton Abbey (13 miles) boast impressive monastic ruins with incredible architectural features, whilst families with youngsters may like to have animal encounters at Africa Alive Zoo (6 miles).
