Faversham cottages

Faversham is a vibrant base for a self-catering holiday. Explore and you’ll find one of the country’s finest medieval streets, Britain’s oldest brewery, a stilted town hall and a striking flint church. While timber-framed buildings and a winding creek evoke Faversham’s fascinating past, contemporary tastes are catered for too – Faversham has quirky cultural quarters, chic independent shops and welcoming refreshment stops. Stock up on holiday essentials in the heart of town as there’s a market three times a week, and a twice-monthly showcase of local arts and produce. The monthly antiques and vintage market is the only one of its kind in Kent. Family holidays are varied here too: visit the lido, indoor pools and picnic areas at Faversham Pools, or let off steam amid the old gunpowder buildings and open water, marshland and woodland at the Oare Gunpowder Works Country Park.

Enjoy the Kent countryside from your holiday cottage – much of the area south of Faversham is within the North Downs, while to the north the Oare Marshes Nature Reserve is important for its migratory bird population. If you’re a walker, the Saxon Shore Way passes through Faversham en route from Gravesend to Hastings. To the west, Sittingbourne is surrounded by orchards, farmland, and beautiful villages – take a ride on the Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway to Milton Creek Country Park while you’re here – or venture east for traditional seaside fun in Whitstable, famed for its oysters and shingle beach. Explore our fantastic collection of Faversham cottages and enjoy all that Kent's oldest and original market town has to offer.
