The Old Stables is situated in the heart of the quaint village Hernhill, alongside the village green. It is the perfect pet friendly retreat for couples looking to get away from it all with plenty of walking and exploring opportunities right from your doorstep. There is a great pub within walking distance which is also dog friendly and serves great food and great beers. The local area is abundant with fruit trees and hop fields yet it is close to the city of Canterbury and Whitstable with its famous beaches. The open-plan nature of the cottage offers a cosy living experience, with an outside dining area for those warmer al fresco evenings with French doors leading to a decked area in the pretty courtyard garden. The Old Stables can also be booked with its sister property, The Pump House, for two couples who want to holiday together but have their own private space. This property offers a real home from home feel with everything you could want to enjoy a holiday here in the Garden of England.

Out and About:

Located between Faversham and Canterbury, North East Kent offers an array of sites and day-trips to immerse yourself during your stay. The Stables is just a 15-minute drive from the popular seaside town, Whitstable, where you can spend the day walking on the shingle beach, exploring the harbour, and finishing off your evening eating oysters in a local pub. Within a 10-minute walking distance is the idyllic Mount Ephraim Gardens, where you can visit the tea rooms in summer.  Faversham is famous for the Shepherd Neame Brewery where you can organise a tour and Canterbury is a great city with its Cathedral, great shopping and lots of cafes and restaurants to enjoy.

A wonderful cottage in a picturesque village, can't fault it in any way whatsoever. The host was most welcoming. We would highly recommend staying here.

Just perfect in every way! We loved our stay at The Old Stables and didn't want to leave which is the best compliment we could give. Great cottage with everything you could need and a lovely patio to sit in the sun and relax. Very, very clean. Centrally located, it is within easy reach of beaches and attractions. Liann (owner) is lovely and on handRead more for anything you need - she even printed some maps for us which we really appreciated. As we said, just perfect and we will definitely be back. Hide

A beautifully presented cottage , in a beautiful location. The private, outdoor terrace was very much appreciated and enabled us to enjoy the wonderful weather during our stay. The proximity of the Red Lion pub was great ! A great location for exploring Kent with some lovely walks straight from the door.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left nothing was too much trouble for the owners. We were greeted and welcomed on arrival and were immediately pleased with the standard and quality of the accommodation and the contents including in the kitchen. It was all pristine and reassuringly clean. The location is perfect in a picturesque KentRead moreish village; charming properties, farms and orchards, church, village pub/restaurant, Oast house all visible and within 100 yards. Lovely cottage in a beautiful quiet village. Ideal for visiting Canterbury, Faversham, Whitstable and further coastal towns. The cottage is well equipped and super comfortable, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break.

A lovely cozy place to stay with all you need, the standard of decor and cleanliness is superb. Hernhill is a lovely village with a superb pub just across the road that serves excellent food.

Nicely situated cottage close to Canterbury, Faversham, Leeds Castle, Belmont House, and other interesting places to visit. The location is also very convenient for hikes in the Blean Woods or the Kent Downs. The cottage was exceptionally clean, and we were warmly welcomed with refreshments. Tea and coffee were also provided. Additionally, the Red Read moreLion pub, which offers delicious pub food, is just a stone's throw away, making dining out convenient during your stay. Hide

Great location with a large parking space for one car. The secure outside patio is a great sun trap. The cottage is opposite The Red Lion pub. The pub is dog friendly, offers great food and has a very well maintained beer garden. The train station at Faversham is not too far away and has adequate parking. One day we caught a train to London VictorRead moreia for a quick visit to the capital! Hide

This was a great break the owners and property were excellent place was clean tidy great location garden was super for our dog, the pub across the road was really good, will look to come back again thank you all
