Description

The Old Dairy House is a beautiful spacious cottage nestled in the tiny village of Arne, near Wareham and is situated on the edge of the RSPB nature reserve, with walks leading out towards Poole Harbour.

Originally built around 1560 and steeped in history, it was a working dairy up until the Second World War. The cottage was partially rebuilt in the 1950s following damage from the war but the character has been maintained alongside being tastefully refurbished with modern facilities and lovingly provided with an abundance of books and games for the whole family to enjoy.

Multiple doors lead out onto the substantial mature garden that children and adults alike will enjoy exploring. It has been lovingly designed and maintained with plenty of seating, wooden swing and rope swing and ladder plus a raised seating area with breath taking views across the harbour.

Wareham is a historic market town with 9th century earth ramparts known as the 'town walls'. The Quay is at the heart of the town and various music events happen here during the course of the year. To the south of Arne is the quintessential village of Corfe Castle with its ruined castle remains dominating the landscape - run by the National Trust its a fascinating place to explore at any time of the year.

For a traditional seaside experience head to Swanage with its sandy beaches, heritage steam railway and local ice cream! From here you can explore the cliffs and coast from Durlston Country Park - pack a picnic and enjoy the views!
