Gartree Cottage is a beautiful cottage in a quiet position just a hundred yards from the water's edge in Polruan. With a modern, stylish feel, the property has great views of the harbour, as well as a small patio garden and private parking. The quay, shops and two characterful inns serving food are just a short walk away. It is an 'upside down' house designed to maximise the amazing views of the river.

Built on a hillside, Polruan's picturesque narrow lanes are peaceful and unspoilt and virtually car free. From the quay, visitors can hop on a ferry to the sailing town of Fowey famous for its yearly Regatta. This is Daphne du Maurier country and the acclaimed Fowey Festival attracts many to its talks, walks, plays and poetry. Surrounded by miles of beautiful coast and countryside, opportunities for walking abound. There is a particularly scenic 1.5 mile coastal walk to sandy Lantic Bay, and the deservedly popular Hall Walk will take you from Polruan to Fowey via Bodinnick and two ferries. Nearby beaches include Readymoney Cove, Lantic Bay and Polkerris. Both the famous Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are within easy driving distance.

Gartree Cottage can be rented out with Chapel Mead next door for a larger group (sleeping 14 in total).

Bedroom 2: Double bed (4'6"), TV, adjoining door to neighbouring property always locked during occupation En Suite Bathroom: Shower over bath, basin, w.c.

FIRST FLOOR:
Open Plan Lounge: Vaulted ceiling, window seat overlooking Fowey harbour, TV, DVD player, iPod dock.
Kitchen/Diner: Electric range cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine (in hall cupboard).

GARDEN AND PARKING: Parking for one car approx. 50 yds from property. Access to the parking is via steps and a fairly steep slope that some visitors may find inconvenient. Front patio garden with garden furniture. Tiered back garden and a potters shed with seating. 


Pet Welcome: Maximum 1 dog; £25 per week.
Power and Heat: Heating is provided by electric underfloor heating. The cost of all electricity is included in the rent.
Bedding and Linen: Pillows & duvets included; bed linen and towels provided. *towels only provided from January 2021
Baby Equipment: Not provided but may be hired.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Great view over the harbour and bay area. Parking space is quite tight but we were able to get a 3 series BMW estate parked without too much stress, wouldnt fancy trying anything much bigger. Kitchen was nice, with most things you might need. We would consider staying here again. 3 minute walk to 2 pubs, we Read moreonly used the Lugger Inn and had a great meal the first night and popped there several more times for drinks in the evening. 3 minute walk to the ferry, which takes you across to Fowey. We love staying at Gartree Cottage, this is the 5th year that we've stayed and just love it! Wonderful location with amazing view of the Fowey estuary and close access to the South Coastal path - so many things to do and see on the doorstep...beautiful scenery and very friendly.

Great location and ever changing views. Very comfortable , warm and well equipped cottage. Great advantage having a parking place, a good challenge for the driver!

We love staying at Gartree Cottage so much, it's been our 3rd visit in 4 years! Fabulous location with great views down Fowey estuary and plenty of great walks on your doorstep. The cottage is clean, comfortable, and warm when needed.
