In the lovely Lincolnshire Wolds, this beautiful property adjoins the owners’ house within their grounds. It’s surrounded by countryside and woodland teeming with wildlife to observe. It’s ideal for a family or one or two couples – or for a larger friendship group of up to 12 people and two dogs, when rented with the two other properties on site. Excellent walking and cycling routes lead directly from the property, with footpath access to Donington-on-Bain (3 miles), with a kissing gate half way. This pretty village is on the River Bain and offers a tearoom, shop, post office and a pub. The market town of Market Rasen (12 miles) has Georgian and Victorian architecture, plus a well-known racecourse. Other market towns include Horncastle (8 miles) and Louth (9 miles): the former was a fortified Roman town now full of antique shops; while the latter Georgian town proffers independent shops and eateries.
You’ll be impressed as you enter the striking open-plan living space at this peaceful countryside retreat, with its huge glass wall of windows and vaulted ceiling, complete with exposed wood. It combines the best of high design with characterful features of the original building. Gather here at the end of an exciting day to watch the Smart TV or talk the day over, cosy with the wood burner lit in winter, or the French doors open to the outdoors in warmer months. There’s a dining area within this generous space, with a table comfortably seating eight where you can eat what the chef du jour has whipped up in the well-equipped kitchen. To prevent you feeling hemmed in, or if people want to do different things, there’s a second cosy lounge or snug with no TV but plenty of games and books and comfortable seating. With every detail covered, there’s a utility/boot room downstairs for storage and laundry, plus one wet room with a shower and WC to make life super easy.
