An exquisitely designed glamping hideaway, this shepherd’s hut is idyllic for those who enjoy tranquillity and natural beauty. Sleeping up to four guests, the one-bedroom bolthole offers comfortable, studio-style accommodation within a paddock. There are three other retreats sited within the large paddock, at South Berrington, 7.5 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed. Venture into the historic town to browse in its shops and galleries, and stock up on local produce. Walk around the famous Elizabethan walls or follow the L.S. Lowry Trail. Spend days on the coast, 5 miles away, enjoying the open sands of dramatic beaches. Stride out along the Northumberland Coast Path or follow the 3-mile Pilgrim’s Way over the tidal sands to Lindisfarne from the causeway 7.5 miles away. The Northumberland National Park, with its many trails, begins 13 miles from your base. Head over the border into Scotland to Palladian Paxton House, 11 miles away, with its beautiful grounds, forest walks and strolls beside the River Tweed.
To make your way into this delightful glamping property, you can either take the four steps onto the long wooden deck or walk up the gentle ramp. You'll find a warm welcome in the attractive, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/bedroom, where all the beds can be folded up and down as required. Here, you have a main king-size bed and a set of bunks that are ideal for children, all of which can be transformed into useful seating space during the day. The shepherd’s hut has been insulated to a high standard and features a tubular heater and a flame-effect fire to ensure your complete comfort, whatever the season. Make hot drinks and whip up tasty dishes for your loved ones in the kitchenette. Choose whether to dine inside or out, depending on the weather. Cosy up in your comfortable beds as night falls, then start the new day with a refreshing hot shower in the morning.
Enjoy your coffee out on the deck listening to birdsong. Share a bottle of chilled wine as the sun sets and listen out for the hoot of the owl. Savour a little stargazing as you toast marshmallows beside the fire pit. Please supervise children and dogs at all times, as your outside space is not fully enclosed. There is off-road parking.
