Trade the everyday grind for fun in the fresh air at this sweet bell tent – one of a handful of tents sitting on a friendly glamping site on a farm just 1.5 miles outside the village of Lakenheath. Sleeping four people in one open-plan sleeping area, it's a great fit for families or groups of friends who are in search of a back-to-nature retreat where they can slow down and gather around the campfire each evening together. Aviation fans will be in their element at the RAF Lakenheath Viewing Area (2 miles), where you can watch F-15 and F-35 fighter jets roar through the sky. Further afield, wander among the towering trees and around the tranquil lakes of Lynford Arboretum (8 miles), or put on your glad rags and enjoy a day at the races in Newmarket (15 miles).
Step inside your bell tent and you’ll discover a cute open-plan space where a double bed and two single beds create a homely retreat under the canvas. The kitchen and dining spaces are outside, but if you’d like to give your head chef an evening off, head to the on-site cafe for a bite to eat. Nearby, your private shower room has a walk-in shower and WC.
Outside, a BBQ and a picnic bench set the scene for relaxed meals in the open air, while if you head to the shared outdoor kitchen, you’ll find that you have your own fridge, kettle and box of cookware – everything you need to whip up a cosy camp supper. Afterwards, make your way to the big shared fire pit and meet your neighbours while you toast marshmallows under the stars. In the morning, the kids can burn off some energy in the enclosed play area, which has a football pitch, trampoline, climbing frame, zip line and table tennis game. Private parking is available.
