Get back to nature at this cute bell tent sitting on a friendly glamping site of six tents on a peaceful Suffolk farm, just 1.5 miles outside the village of Lakenheath. Sleeping four people in one open-plan area, it's a wonderful glamping option for families or groups of friends who are in search of a back-to-nature escape where they can swap the everyday grind for open skies and campfire evenings. Thetford Forest (7 miles) is a paradise for walkers and cyclists, and the brave can find treetop adventures at Go Ape. Further afield, delve into the past at Grimes Graves (9 miles), a remarkable set of 5,000-year-old Neolithic flint mines where you can climb down a ladder into an ancient shaft deep beneath the Breckland Heath, or lose yourself in the medieval streets of the city of Ely (16 miles).
Step inside your glamping tent and you’ll find a welcoming open-plan space where a double bed and two singles create a cosy, canvas-walled base for the whole family. There is storage space for your belongings, and electric blankets to keep you warm should you need them. Although the glamping site’s outdoor kitchen area is shared, each tent comes with its own fridge, kettle, and box of cookware – everything you need to cook up a camp feast. Your own private shower room is close by, with a walk-in shower and WC.
Outside, a private BBQ and picnic bench set the scene for lazy al fresco meals in the fresh air. There’s also a shared outdoor kitchen area and a friendly on-site cafe that serves up food and drinks. The kids are sure to love the shared, enclosed play area, which has a zip line, a trampoline, a climbing frame, a football pitch, and a table tennis game. As night falls, gather with fellow guests at the glamping site’s central fire pit. Private parking is available in the on-site car park – accessed via a bark path through the site/play area.
